The roll-top backpack »Adam« made of water resistant, waxed 22oz canvas and hardened buffalo leather is the perfect companion for outdoor adventures. The special material not only offers protection against moisture, but also gives the backpack a firm shape and a distinctive character. With a variable capacity (20-30 liters), this backpack can be adjusted to your needs so that there is always enough space for your equipment. A reliable companion for hiking, camping trips or other outdoor activities.
The patch cargo pocket on the front offers additional storage space for smaller items that need to be close at hand. There are sturdy leather straps on the sides of the backpack, which are perfect for attaching additional material. A large open pocket on the side offers space for things like thermos flasks or other larger items that you want quick access to.
Each roll-up backpack is made by hand and is therefore truly unique. All wear points are lined with leather on the outside and stress points are additionally reinforced, which ensures a high level of durability and resistance. Leather is a natural material and may have small imperfections. Each leather product is also patinated by hand. This complex process makes our products unmistakable. No bag can be exactly like another. Small color deviations are unfortunately unavoidable and not a sign of poor quality.

CAN I TAKE THE BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE, ON THE PLANE?
This backpack meets the dimensions of common airlines and IATA. The backpack is the ideal carry-on baggage for almost any mode of transportation.
IS THE BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE, RIGID OR RATHER SOFT?
It is rather rigid and stiff. The backpack maintains its shape due to the wax incorporated into our canvas through heat and pressure. The shape only changes slightly depending on the amount of contents.
IS THE ROLL-TOP BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE, WATERPROOF OR WATER-REPELLENT?
The backpack is water-repellent due to the wax layer on the canvas. Water beads off and does not penetrate the material. The rollable top edge additionally prevents moisture from entering the backpack through the zipper. However, the backpack is not completely waterproof and cannot be used underwater. The backpack is ideal as a small motorcycle backpack.
DOES THE WAXED CANVAS BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE, HAVE A LAPTOP COMPARTMENT?
The backpack has a padded laptop compartment for laptops up to 16 inches.
HOW CAN I CLEAN AND MAINTAIN MY BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE?
We believe that a vintage-designed backpack should show how extensively it has been used. That's how it should be. However, if you still feel the need to clean your backpack, we recommend three steps:
- Remove dust and dirt particles from the backpack, e.g., with a brush or a handheld vacuum cleaner.
- Gently dab and rub stains with a clean, damp cloth. If the stains are stubborn, you can try using a mild detergent.
- Occasionally apply a light coat of leather conditioner (e.g., beeswax or carnauba wax) to the leather. Be careful not to apply it to the canvas to avoid stains.
DOES THE CANVAS BACKPACK "ADAM" NEED TO BE REWAXED?
The wax is permanently incorporated into the canvas material, and the wax-impregnated cotton should maintain its water-repellent effect and material properties for at least 10 years. However, if you still feel the need to rewax the bag, you should only use designated textile waxes (e.g., Dr. Gee's impregnation wax).
WHAT TYPE OF LEATHER IS USED FOR THE BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE?
We exclusively use vegetable-tanned and full-grain buffalo leather for the backpack. The exceptionally durable leather comes from India. During production, our leather is hand-finished with colored wax, sealed, and obtains its special vintage patina. It perfectly complements our waxed canvas.
WHERE AND HOW IS THE BACKPACK "ADAM," KHAKI-BEIGE, MANUFACTURED?
Our goods are manufactured in India. Our workshop is a small family business whose long-term employees craft our bags with great heart and passion. Over time, our long-standing cooperation has grown into a genuine friendship. The production conditions are socially acceptable and meet BSCI standards. We regularly verify this personally. Our leather and cotton fabrics are sourced directly from local suppliers in India. When dyeing our cotton fabrics, only dyes free of AZO colorants are used. Our leather is generally vegetable-tanned, meaning it is based on plant extracts and does not involve the use of aggressive tanning agents. Our standards are socially and environmentally sound, and above average. However, we strive to continue improving ourselves and further enhancing our ecological and social footprint.
Our leather production is LWG certified
Our leather tannery is certified to the LWG standard and we use only vegetable tanning agents for tanning. The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an initiative to make conditions in tanneries and intermediaries more transparent and to bring about sustainable change. To implement its goals, the Leather Working Group has developed an audit protocol for sustainable and responsible leather production.
